其实生活中这些方法是综合运用的，只需各位开动脑筋
以下图为例：

I’m a caterpillar.I grow inside my tiny yellow egg.The egg is no bigger than the period at the end of this sentence.
My mother is a butterfly. One day I will look like her.
这段是DK see how they grow 中蝴蝶的一段话。如果孩子基础不是很好，怎么来让他明白这段话呢？请大家先不要看我后面的东西，自己可以动脑想想，除了翻译外是否能让孩子明白？
如果换做我的话，第一句caterpillar，很多孩子看过好饿的毛毛虫，可以从这里入手，如果还不懂的话，家长可以站起来，然后自己拍拍自己的胸口，然后做毛虫蠕动的样子，说I’m a caterpillar，然后让孩子猜猜what is caterpillar，孩子也许会给出很多答案，家长直接在纸上画出毛虫，或者这本书里也有毛虫的图片，指着图片告诉孩子。猜的过程已经跟孩子产生互动，后面给出结论会鼓励孩子大胆的猜想，尤其家长可以引导他猜毛虫。比如你画出毛虫，兔子，老虎的形象，让他猜猜你刚才做的是哪种动物，孩子一猜就对，这样在他日后的阅读中我想他会主动去猜去思考，而不是坐等答案的。

还是之前的观点，孩子不必理解每个单词其实也可以对句子理解个大概。
第一句话可以直接在图片上指出this is the tiny yellow egg. 一定要用手表示小，让孩子理解tiny，还可以告诉孩子，tiny means very small. this is the small yellow egg. What’s inside? 孩子可能对What’s insid？理解不好，家长直接画一条毛虫在里面，然后说look， a caterpillar is in the egg.然后引出I grow inside my tiny yellow egg.说这句的时候家长可以从蹲着的状态变成站起的状态，让孩子来理解grow.
The egg is no bigger than the period at the end of this sentence.
这句直接指着句尾的句号告诉孩子this is the period，如果想让孩子理解sentence可以指着整句告诉孩子this is sentence.
接着说the period is very small，tiny？ Yes？把tiny的概念再次放在这。然后直接图片上的yellow egg 告诉孩子，it’s smaller than the period，这句孩子未必 会懂，还是用手势表示egg 的小，或者直接画图来解释，period和egg 带大小的关系.
My mother is a butterfly. 这句基本没问题，如果不理解mother就告诉孩子，mummy，或者直接指着孩子和自己，baby，mother，butterfly基本不成问题，不知道这个词的直接指着图片就ok
One day I will look like her.
我想孩子只要理解look like就差不多，可以拿几个图形或者是其他东西，表示different和look like就可以.或者直接画，比如画个西瓜和桃子说different，话个大西瓜和小西瓜然后说look like. 然后把这句话说成one day the caterpillar will look like his mother/the butterfly.
以上讲解的过程很多很繁琐，主要是把对象当做几乎不懂英文的对象来做的例子，而且是以大家普遍认为较难的科普读物为例的。其实我们平时看的绘本比这个要相对容易些，科普尚可如此，何患其他乎？
